This is my story from March 1, 2008 until the unknown date when I completely recover from rupturing my Achilles tendon. Then maybe I'll talk about something else.
Watching, not playing! They even let me into the players tent, thanks Sonia!
Here's an update on the scar:

Hi Bri,
I ruptured my achilles playing soccer but the sport I play most is sand volleyball. I was playing v-ball 2-3 times a week and played 1 indoor soccer game for my company team and it ruptured. I can't get a clear answer from my Dr. about how long I should wait to play volleyball. I get the feeling he hasn't dealt with sand v-ball players much and doesn't understand what it takes to jump out of sand. Anyways, what is your timeline on being able to get back on the court?
Hey Jacob- Your body will definitely tell you when you are ready. I have a volleyball friend who ruptured her Achilles in November, and started playing sand vball in June I think, but was being cautious and wasn't jumping.
I'd make sure you're fully healed - it's not worth a re-rupture. They say it takes 6 months to a year to heal completely.
I had surgery on March 6, so I'm planning on playing indoor sometime this fall (September will be 6 months for me). I'll have to wait until next summer for sand though :(
